Scholarship
Guidelines for
JACKSONVILLE TRENDSETTERS CHAPTER
of the
AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION
To receive consideration
for a scholarship, a candidate must submit a completed application
and include the following:
Transcript of grades
from previous school/courses
Two character
reference letters
Profile about
yourself, include educational goal, financial need, other
pertinent information
Scholarship amount
determined annually by amount raised by the chapter during the
year.
May will be
scholarship month and awards will be made at the Council's
Recognition Day Event. Deadline for submitting an application
will be February 25th.
Checks will be made
out to the recipient and the institution with an account credit
in the event recipient is unable to continue schooling; balance
in account will be refunded to the chapter.
Candidate/former
recipient must apply annually for scholarship monies and must
satisfy all the requirements of these guidelines.
All applications are
to be reviewed by the Education Committee which will recommend
the recipients for vote by the chapter at the April chapter
meeting.
Candidate must be a
resident of Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau or Baker County.
Candidate must
attend a Florida or Georgia educational institution.
The recipient must
request scholarship monies prior to December 31st of the year in
which the monies are awarded.
After the recipient
attains junior level, having been awarded scholarships for
freshman and sophomore years, the chapter may submit the
application to the National Scholarship Program for a grant or
an interest-free loan.
